BenQ has announced the GV11, a smart portable projector. The device’s lens can rotate, allowing a wide range of projection angles, with automatic vertical keystone to perfect the image. The cheaper 480p projector has an LED light source with up to 200 ANSI lumens brightness and can throw an image 80-in (~203 cm) wide from a distance of 7.5 ft (~2.3 m), thanks to a 1.3 throw ratio.

A 270° 5 W sound system, with treVolo-tuned audio modes and bass extensions, is built into the GV 11. Plus, sound diffusers on each side of the gadget enhance the audio experience. The projector comes with Android TV 10, allowing you to stream content through apps such as Prime Video, YouTube and Hulu. This also lets you control the device with Google Assistant voice commands, or you can use the accompanying smartphone app. You can cast content from your smartphone via Chromecast or Apple AirPlay; alternatively, you can connect gadgets via HDMI and USB-A ports, with a 51 ms input lag at a [email protected] resolution. The portable device is battery-powered, providing up to 160 minutes of video or 240 minutes of audio playback. The gadget is compact, weighing 2.14 lbs (~0.97 kg) and measuring 4.5 x 6.0 x 5.5-in (~113.5 x 153.3 x 140 mm), and can run quietly at 23 dBA. The BenQ GV11 projector is now available to pre-order via the company’s online store for US$279; this includes a US$100 discount off the US$379 MSRP, an offer valid until the end of October.
