Opened in 2015 by the Maroondah City Council, the Realm Centre for Regional Knowledge and Innovation is a state-of-the-art educational interactive library and community hub facility, which also showcases the creative strengths of plywood in the field of architectural design.

The architects, ACME and The Buchan Group specified MAXI Plywood’s versatile film face birch plywood range, MAXI Film for the internal joinery fittings in the library. The exacting joinery work executed by Michael Schiavello has created a fun and inviting learning space for all ages.

The decorative construction of the MAXI Film plywood shelving and storage areas in black, white and transparent film colours expose the purity and texture of the quality birch plywood core.

Realm Library’s plywood joinery successfully incorporates areas within the new complex to engage children and adults alike with visually stimulating collaborative reading and work spaces. The MAXI Film plywood shelving and wall units provide a fun, visually attractive focal point for this true community hub.
